A Challenge for You...

I was thinking about words that I adore. Words that stop my mind for a moment when I am reading, or thinking. I am sleepy, so here are but a few. My challenge to you...one of the following:

Choose one and use it in a sentence in the comments.
Write a story or poem in your own blog based on one or using them all (be sure to direct me there)...
or, of course, share your own list here.

Words that I adore...
Adore
Hypnagogic
Velocity
Befuddled
Hours
Felicitous
Voluminous
Vigor
Fasten
Crimson
Piquant
Circumstance
Incorrigible
Bone
Indeed
Menace
Sear
Immensity

I look forward to your creative contribution!

This inspired me to post about my favorite word. The discussion in the comments quickly deteriorated, however.

I actually thought it was pretty friggin amusing. Hell, I never get 20 comments on anything! And I hope your mother washes your mouth out with soap.

OVER 20 comments...sheesh. I'm lucky when I get three.

frou, only 4 or 5 words on your list are anglo-saxon words, the rest are French/greco-latin. All the ones on ttractor's.

I'm sure I have favorites in many languages that I don't make a point of remembering, but off hand, "bogus" is really remarkable because it translates perfectly into French as "bidon", which has the exact meaning, same length and similar sound and the same level of colloquialism, almost uncanny.

citadin, interesting information, especially about "bogus". I see you just started a blog. I'll be interested to see more.

Thanks Frou, I won't be starting in earnest for a while, I'm a bit swamped for the next month or two, just fit enough for light grazing...

Well, give me a shout when you start in earnest!
