100 Words Challenge

For tomorrow, or tonight, or heck, why not right now? Post here or on yer own blog, exactly 100 words on "Fragility". I'll be back with mine.

To inspire you:

"...when we finally know we are dying, and all other sentient beings are dying with us, we start to have a burning, almost heartbreaking sense of the fragility and preciousness of each moment and each being, and from this can grow a deep, clear, limitless compassion for all beings." - Sogyal Rinpoche

I don't want you to feel sad that no one has added a comment here...because I love your blog and think you're swell. However, I never did love these 100 words things...I did heart your random-words-I-like-today challenge with which you presented us earlier.

I also love elipses...

Oh, I'm not sad, it was just an experiment. I know I have a few readers who almost never comment or participate and I was hoping to draw them out (you know who you are).

I'm tickled that you think I'm "swell". Likewise chica.

tentatively perched on the edge of a year - her mind, her body waking up. the beginnings of dexterity surges through sinew: skooching backwards then sitting up then grabbing the coffee table and standing. a new awareness, a new division: mom&dad - other. fierce protest of betrayal when passed into the hands of the terrifying other - as if she knows with a certainty that burns what parents take so cavalierly, knows her dependence is absolute. knows and it makes her angry, knows and it makes her fierce. a beastly rage burns at the heart of this girl to survive

der - I don't think this came off right ... I seem to have gotten caught up in the aggressive fragility of babies - maybe I'll come back and post something else

Thanks for posting! I'm curious why you're caught up in the fragility of babies particularly right now. What's the story behind that?

whisper of liquid vitality - an embrace closer even than skin. bodyvessel lifting up mind's arc of discovery against the rhythms of a vast exterior ocean against the song of the interior sea - a bright ecstatic human music perched between. storm battered within & without, ill-timed air and the flickering light of the mind goes off course - goes out.

that's kinda close(r) to what I really wanted to say about fragility. I have 10 month old niece who has just acquired the abaility to roll-over, crawl and pull herself to her feet in a burst of physical dexterity accomplishments. I have been keeping a keen eye on her

where is your fragility ... or is it above as queried

John, I do need to post my own fragility entry. I will think about it tonight. I'm still contemplating yours. Thanks.

I do love watching children dash through the milestones, that wonderful time when joy is just in the doing of new things. Discovering how one's body works, discovering new ways in which it works today that it didn't yesterday. If only, if only, that never ended. That body development.
